I have been thinking for the past 2-3 days on how to go about this post because Kumutha gave some 100 beautiful photos taken in Pondy Bazaar. If you are following me on social media, you already knew that I love shopping in Pondy Bazaar. I have already wrote a post about street shopping and this post would be an update with a few individual pics of me because it’s been a while since I did a fashion post or let’s say, Kumutha made the simple jeans and tee look so cool 😛
Here are the few must buys from Pondy Bazaar
- Accessories – hands down one of the best places to buy accessories is Pondy Bazaar. Earrings, Bangles, Statement necklaces can be purchased at a very good price. The latest trend – thread bangles are available in almost all the colors and they can be mix matched with various other designs.
- Night pants, t-shirts and cotton skirts – For the amount you pay for a branded night pant, you can buy 3-4 night pants for almost same quality in Pondy Bazaar. If you detest nighties like me, cotton skirts and t-shirts are your best companion. I got some good quality cotton skirts for as cheap as Inr 350/-
- Stoles and Duppatas – A dupatta or stole will cost you anywhere around Inr 350-400 in big shops whereas you can find various colors and designs for as cheap as as Inr 100/- in Pondy Bazaar
- Palazzo pants – Though it’s been a while that palazzo pants are in trend, every other shop in Pondy Bzaar has palazzo pants. The collection and quality is really good that you will take home at least 3 to 4 pants. The range starts from Inr 150/-
Things you have to search for – The above mentioned stuffs are good in any shops in Pondy Bazaar whereas there are a few stuffs like handbags, footwear and kurtis which you have to search in more that 3-4 shops to get the best.
Important tip – If you like stuffs of a particular shop, take the business card from the shop owner which has a shop number. Next time go to the same shop and the shopkeeper will definitely give you more discount. Most of the time they will remember their customers, else show them the card. When you are visiting your usual shop,if you find other customers, the shopkeeper might ask you to wait. This is to offer you an exclusive discount which he do not want to offer others. I have personally experienced this more than twice so have some patient and wait when he ask you to 🙂
Hope this post was interesting and useful. Happy Shopping 🙂
PS – By Pondy Bazaar I meant the blue corporation building where you can find all the shops.
