I was so lazy and demotivated that by the time I was writing this post, most of the replaced products got empty. Do you get what am I saying? I have decided to post this anyway because I have clicked the pics, added watermarks and everything.
Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment
I bought it during my wedding in the hopes of getting my hair transformed in a month or so. It’s a decent hair oil which makes your hair smooth and works great as a pre-conditioner. But I couldn’t find any significant improvement/change that I don’t really see the point in investing 990/- for a hair oil. There are so many small organic brands making the same bringadi oil for a much lesser price. I don’t see myself repurchasing it.
Loreal Paris Extraordinary clay purifying and hydrating shampoo and conditioner
This shampoo is meant for combination hair that is oily scalp and dry ends which is exactly my hair type. But this worked just as any other shampoo and conditioner for me. My scalp generally gets oily in 2-3 days of washing and the same happened while using this shampoo as well. I don’t mind washing my hair every 2-3 days; so buying this variant is of no use for me. Also, I prefer to change my shampoo every now and then that I shifted to the below 2 products.
Tresemme Salon silk shampoo and conditioner
This is my go-to shampoo and conditioner. It makes my hair super smooth and conditions it without weighing down. I will be always repurchasing this combo.
Khadi organic shikakai and reetha powder
I have recently added these to my haircare routine. Whenever I pre-condition my hair with oil, I go for a shampoo wash and after 3 days, I wash my hair again with the combination of these 2 powders (without preconditioning with oil). You have to mix the products in water to make a paste, rub it between palms to lather it up. It obviously doesn’t lather as much as a shampoo but it does cleanse the scalp nicely. I am not sure whether it can get rid of the oil that is applied but it removes the natural oil that secretes on your scalp. It stings your eyes badly so make sure it doesn’t get into your eyes. Also, I have a feeling that it caused some breakouts on my forehead (not sure). Irrespective of the few cons, this combination is good for the hair and increased the thickness of my hair as well. (Not much but significantly)
Pantene oil replacement
This is one product I love, I recommend and I will keep buying. I am not using it as an oil replacement but every other way possible. I use it as hair conditioner, leave in cream when I try to squish to condish and as a heat protectant. It’s an amazing multipurpose product at a very reasonable price. Do give it a try!
Nivea deodorant and deodorizer
I have emptied the Nivea deodorant to the last spritz of it and thought of trying the deodorizer after seeing one of the youtubers recommending it. The plus point of the deodorizer is, it doesn’t form the white cast like the deodorant and can be sprayed on the clothes as well. However, I didn’t like the fragrance much and the staying power is not great. Not going to buy it again. After finishing the few other deos I am using right now, will go back to the Nivea deodorant, as it is a stable product in my vanity.
TBS White Smoky Rose EDT
This is my second bottle (finished) and I have an emotional attachment to this fragrance as my husband (then boyfriend) bought this firstly for me. I will keep buying it as I love the fragrance. But I am eyeing one from Zara also and the Zara one is much cheaper than the TBS one. Maybe I will buy the Zara one myself and ask the hubby to buy the Tbs one 😛 Read the complete review here.
United colors of Benetton deo spray
This is something like an impulse buy just because of the brand and the bottle color. Didn’t like the fragrance much. Not buying it again.
Dove nourishing lotion shea butter and warm vanilla
Most of the times I alternate between Nivea and Dove body lotions. When this one got over, summer was at its peak that I went for a sunscreen lotion. I will repurchase it at any point in future.
Nivea sun protect & moisture SPF 50+
This is your usual thick/white sunscreen lotion. It is difficult to blend and leaves a white cast which is obviously visible if you are of dusky complexion ( I have not used it on my face). But, this is one of the best drugstore sunscreens you can get. You can mix it with a regular moisturizer to make it more blendable. This can be used while swimming also. I have not finished it yet and not using it anymore also but will try to finish it next summer.
Biotique bio carrot seed anti ageing after bath body oil
The whole beauty world is incorporating oils into the beauty care regime. But given the sensitivity of my facial skin, I am not there yet. However, thought of adding oils to my body care regime at least. This body oil is affordable, non-sticky and moisturizes quite well. But the smell is a major put off for me as it smells like a shaving cream. I am not buying it again but would like to explore a few more body oil options available out there.
Dove go fresh revive body wash and Nivea water lily and oil shower gel
I have finished a Nivea body wash (frangipani and oil variant) and bought the dove one, just for a change. I loved the frangipani variant so much that I didn’t even care to notice the fragrance of the dove for initial few days. I can’t really compare both fragrance wise as they are good in their own way. But at any point, I will choose Nivea than the dove. I wanted to try other variants of Nivea body wash and bought this water lily variant. Right now, I have finished this as well and went back to the frangipani 😛
Plum green tea clear face mask and Lotus tea tree clarifying face pack
I was not using any face pack for quite sometime and after giving a lot of thoughts bought the Plum green tea clear face mask. The only positive thing about this face pack is it didn’t react with my sensitive skin. I was using it religiously twice a week and emptied it but there is no reduction in the appearance of acne or of acne scars. I was looking for a replacement and went for the Lotus tea tree clarifying face pack but this one triggered small pimples on my face. My friend gifted the clay-white variant, even that caused breakouts that I stopped using lotus face packs. Nevertheless, both plum and lotus face packs work for many that you can definitely give these a try. Right now I am using fullersearth+aloe gel+ rose water as face pack which works well for my skin.
La Roche- Posay astringent and thermal spring water
So many campaigns and endorsement were made when La Roche- Posay was introduced here in India. Recently heard that La Roche- Posay products are not available here anymore. I was using these products religiously for quite some time but didn’t really see any difference on my skin for the money I have paid.
Kama Ayurveda pure rose water
I just love this rose water by Kama Ayurveda. The fragrance hit me just when I was opening the package and it was pure and unadulterated. When you spritz on your face, it does gives a luxury feel. The only con is the price. For Inr 250/- you just get 50 ml of product and if you are using it on a daily basis, it will get over in 3-4 weeks. Looking for a cheaper alternative for this.
Lotus 3-in-1 matte look daily sunblock SPF 40
This was my go-to day cream/ sunscreen for face. I am more inclined towards prescribed sunscreens as of now but will repurchase this in future.
Plum green tea alcohol-free toner and Lotus white glow gel creme
Lotus white glow gel creme seems to be a holy grail product for many. After reading a lot about how it evens out skin tone and fades acne marks, I purchased it. It also has SPF so replaced the Lotus 3-in-1 sunscreen with this. Somehow it didn’t work for me and broke me out. Just to be clear, I didn’t buy this for the ‘white glow’ claim. I am not going to repurchase it obviosuly but if you are looking for a day cream, give this a try as it has many good reviews. Once the La Roche- Posay astringent got over, I bought Plum green tea toner. I was using it along with the lotus day cream. As my skin was breaking out, I was skeptical to use this as well. I have given it to my one of my friends and shifted to Kama Ayurveda rose water.
Plum Grape Seed and Sea Buckthorn Nurturance Night Cream
There was no night creme in my skincare regime for so long. While buying the Plum green tea pack, I have ordered this as well. This is a decent night cream which moisturizes my skin well. It didn’t react with my skin which is a huge plus point. But I didn’t see any significant change on my skin that I am not buying it again. If you are around 25ish, planning to include a night cream in your routine, you can give this is a try. Right now I am just using aloe vera gel from faceshop during the night.
Aroma magic under eye gel
I bought this after seeing a beauty blogger I follow using it. I was not really looking for anything that can magically makes my dark circles disappear. I wanted something to moisturize my undereye areas. To be frank, I am not using this continuously but I can definitely say that it worked on the puffiness around my eyes. Will keep using it and once this is over, planning to buy the cream variant.
Vaseline aloe soothe body lotion
This is something I bought while travelling. Somehow this makes my skin extremely dry that I can feel that my skin is parched. Will defintely not buy this variant again but can try the other ones especially while travelling as they packaging is compact.
If you have made it till here, thank you. Planning to post more frequently, so wish me luck 🙂
