After I have thrown away most of my makeup, I didn’t buy anything new for me to review it on the blog. Recently, I conducted a giveaway for MyGlamm and they have sent me a few products to try out; so here I am with a post on makeup products after so long.
Before I start writing about the products, a little about the packaging first. Except 2, the remaining products I have received are of 2 in 1 types. As in, 2 products in 1 packaging. It will come handy when you are travelling and the sleek packaging is an added advantage. As far as I know, there is no such packaging available in the Indian market (correct me if I am wrong), so kudos to it.
TWO OF YOUR KIND – CANDYLAND Long Lasting Gel Finish Nail Enamel Duo
I was truly intrigued by this packaging. I was actually kinda scared to open it as I was not sure how the brush is fixed in the cap.
I loved both the colours and it suited my dusky skin as well. I am not sure of the gel finish but it is not completely opaque even after 2 quotes. It’s been more than a week since I have applied this on my nail and there is no major chipping. It retails for INR 390/- and you get around INR 50/- cashback points. If you are looking to try some gel nail polish, you can consider this, as the well-known brands retail in the market are around 300 per piece.
STAY DEFINED – 2 in 1 Liquid Eyeliner + HD Brow Powder
This was one product I was totally excited to try. It’s been a while since I used a liquid liner. I got comfortable with kohls and liner pens. My hand gets kinda shaky while applying liner which makes the liquid smears. However, this one has a stiff applicator(without any bristles) that it is not that difficult to apply.
The pigmentation is good and it gets dry in a jiffy but it also feels heavy on the eyelids as it drys. It definitely smudges and because of the heaviness, you tend to touch the eyelids which increases the chances of smudging.
The brow powder is a total winner though. Whether you want dramatic brows or a natural one or somewhere in between, you can play around with this product. I loved how it made my brows fuller.
The total price of this product is INR 1095/- and I don’t really see a point in investing this much money on this product when the eyeliner is just average. There are so many brow products and liquid liners available out there for as low as INR 300/-
POWDER MAGIC – SMOKY QUARTZ – Powder Eyeshadow Stick & Liner
Another product that kindled my curiosity. A powder eyeshadow in a stick! This is a beautiful dark brown colour with shimmers on it. Yes, it has a powder finish and easy to apply. The colour payoff is good as well. If you are someone who just needs some colour on the eyelids, this could be your go-to product.
But the major drawbacks are the fallout and staying power. It can easily get all over the place and you need some kind of base for it to stay. It is a decent product but I don’t see this is to be worthy of INR 995/-
COLOUR FUSION – SULTRY DIVA – 2 in 1 Plumping Lipstick + Plumping Lip Gloss
I am always sceptical about choosing a lipstick online. Majorly because of my pigmented lips and dusky complexion. The brand gave me 5 options to choose from and this particular shade seems to be suitable for me. The orange is kind of bright for my complexion but it can be worked with.
However, the coverage is kind of low that I need a good number of swipes to cover my pigmentation. It kind of applied streakily, but my lips were dry and chapped while trying so I am not sure about the application.
Coming to the lipgloss, is it a thing anymore? Do you guys still purchase lipgloss? I don’t remember when was the last time I have applied a lipgloss.
I was excited to try a lipgloss after a long time but I also felt that many might not be interested in it. The lip gloss on its own didn’t provide any colour pay off or coverage on my pigmented lips. Again, I don’t see myself investing INR 995/- in a product like this.
ALL EYE NEED TAPERED BLENDING BRUSH – Brush for Contouring & Blending of Eye Shadow
I used to crush over makeup brushes at one point of time and now that I have a good number of quality brushes, it’s been a while that I purchased a new one.
If you are into eye-makeups, you already know the importance of a blending brush. If you are a beginner, you should definitely invest in a good blending brush. This brush retails for INR 1050/- but totally lacks the quality for the price. The bristles are not that soft and sparsely packed. I have used it once, it was not actually bad but did not justify the price at all.
Overall, I liked the concept of the few products the packaging and the cashback offers. But totally, disappointed by the price and the quality of the products. I am not sure whether such price range is because of the packaging or because it is imported from Germany. But, to survive in the Indian market, Myglamm should definitely work on the quality of the products as there are many kickass products already available here for a very nominal price.
