Christmas and New year are around the corner. Even though Chennai is back on its feet, the real celebration mode is yet to kick in. If you are someone who is still going through the effects of flood and in no mood for celebration, Hot Breads is giving you a reason to celebrate.
Hot Breads is supporting a campaign called Rebuild Chennai by donating part of the sales amount during Christmas to charity.
A group of food bloggers from Chennai had been invited to try a few Christmas delicacies at Hot Breads Cathedral Road branch. Plum cake, premium plum cake, stolen bread, dundee cake, walnut cake and minced pie are the special Christmas delicacies available at Hot breads.
The plum cake is the star of the Christmas specialties with the main ingredients raisins and plums are cured in rum for 6 months before adding in the cake. It is a must try for this Christmas as it is available only during this time.
Personally, I have loved the walnut and dundee cake. The minced fruit pie is one of a kind with real minced fruits surrounded by a crispy crust which should be eaten with a vanilla ice cream or fresh cream.
Hot Breads at Cathedral also has a Mexican restaurant called Don Pepe. Chef Vasu tried a unique chocolate and cappuccino mousse for the first time at the outlet and we were lucky enough to taste them as well. We were able to gulp a few pieces even after the tasting the cakes proves how good the mousses were. A must try!
After all the sweet delicacies, we were craving for something hot and spicy. That is when we get to taste this fresh, juicy, cheesy chicken nachos. Again a must try from Don Pepe menu. After the nachos we tried a chicken burrito which consists of minced chicken along with bean accompanied with a salad and spicy rice.
They also have a fast food menu which consists pizza, burgers, fries etc.
Hot Bread is a brand which is in the city for 25 years, with chefs working from day 1 of the inception. Even though they have grown in to various branches in all major cities, the ingredients and the quality standards are maintained through out all the branches.
A must visit during this festive season 🙂
